ETR (Electronic Temporary Registration)
- Allows you to issue Temporary License Plate via Print on Demand.
- Allows you to electronically transfer a metal plate to the vehicle that has been acquired (Note: the metal plate has to be physically affixed to the vehicle before the temporary transfer is done). Nevertheless, dealers using ETR will still have to apply for certificates of title by either using an authorized tag agency or going to a Tax Collector’s Office.
Background Checks
Dealers need to make sure that, all principals and authorized system users submit a Criminal History Background check (per Florida Administrative Code 15C-17.001) to the ETR provider.
Reasons for disqualification of principals or prospective users:
- Must have no convictions involving a felony for the last 7 years except as provided in Section 112.011(1)(b), F.S. Regardless of the passage of time since the conviction and notwithstanding restoration of civil rights,
- Anyone convicted of a felony involving dishonesty, including but not limited to, identity fraud, embezzlement or other economic crimes is not eligible to be granted authorization to use the ETR system.
- The convictions listed above that would prohibit authorization to use the ETR system do not include any felony convictions involving the actual operation of a motor vehicle.
