Existing Dealers
Per F.S.320.131(9) (b), In the case of a system outage, A dealer can obtain pre-printed temporary license plates from Tax collector or license plate agency submit the information electronically to the state within one business day of issuing the temporary paper tag. Customers without a metal plate to transfer will leave the dealership with an electronic temporary tag or also known as paper tag and a temporary registration.
Please submit to your local Regional Office within 1 business days:
- Form HSMV82082: http://www.flhsmv.gov/dmv/forms/BTR/82082.pdf Application for off-line issuance of a preprinted temporary license Plate. (Keep in your records for a period of 5 years)
- Proof of Identity per The Division Of Motorist Services Procedure TL-01: http://www3.flhsmv.gov/dmv/Proc/TL/TL-01.PDF
- Proof of insurance with the exception of motorcycles, trailers, and federally owned vehicles.
*Note
- The applicant retains the original copy of HSMV82082: http://www.flhsmv.gov/dmv/forms/BTR/82082.pdf and must maintain at all times while driving with the temporary plate.
- The issuing agency must retain the duplicate copy for five year after issuance
