Existing Dealers
Per Rule 15C-7.002 F.A.C acceptable proof of ownership includes:
- A properly assigned certificate of title
- A Manufacturers Certificate of Origin for new vehicles
- A consignment contract with a secure power of attorney authorizing the dealer to apply for duplicate certificate of title and assign title on behalf of the owner.
- A court order awarding title ownership to the dealer
- A salvage certificate of title
- Copy of certificate of title being held by a financial institution as floor-planning collateral
- Proof of payment to satisfy a lien on a vehicle taken in trade by a licensed dealer evidencing that certificate of title is in transit.
- A sales contract for a specific vehicle identifying that vehicle as a trade-in on a replacement vehicle.
- A properly executed odometer disclosure statement signed by the titled owner of a trade-in vehicle
