schedule assessment Existing Dealers

Every year, the Department of Revenue conducts compliance audits to:
  1. Ensure that businesses are compliant,
  2. Prevent tax evasion,
  3. Educate business owners of the complex rules and regulations regarding their own business and industry.

The department at times will work with owners whenever possible, but they have the duty and will refer your business to the proper authorities for prosecution if the violations warrant such action.

It is very important to understand that all Motor Vehicle Dealers need to register with the State of Florida. You may or may not need to register for all of the taxes mentioned above because they may not all be applicable to you. The best way to determine your specific business tax responsibilities is by logging on the State of Florida’s Department of Revenue web page at http://dor.myflorida.com/Pages/default.aspx. or contacting them by phone.
