schedule assessment Existing Dealers

The Division oversees the issuance of temporary tags. The Division now requires dealers to issue temporary tags electronically. This process can be set up through one of the state’s approved vendors. Hard paper tags can still be used, but only in emergency situations where the electronic system may be unavailable due to a system down time. The dealer is required to post the paper tag information electronically as soon as the system is available. Dealers who do not follow up to register temporary tags may face suspension or revocation of their dealer license. Temporary tags may be issued for 30 days and no more than twice per transaction. Any dealer who knowingly violates the regulations as prescribed in Florida Statues Chapter 320.131 may be subject to conviction of up to a felony in the third degree. Unit 5 “Titling” will have more information.
